Hot in Pursuit Police Officers Robert Hall and Anthony Tedesco of the NYPD's Highway Unit
Two were also honored with the National Humane Award for their rescue of two
seven-week-old German Shepherd puppies who had wandered onto the Belt Parkway.
When the officers spotted the puppies, they immediately pulled over. A 20-minute
chase ensued. Both puppies were temporarily housed at the precinct, where they
shared Thanksgiving dinner with the squad. Both dogs were adopted by police
officers and their families. (ASPCA – 1997) |
